Snuggle-Kins Musical Moves Stroller is now in stock at Fisher-Price for the low price of $20 and $5.95 shipping!

One of last year's hot toys was this. It could be bought for nearly double the price on Ebay and now this year my Target couldn't seem to sell the one they had on their shelf until a week ago.

I find this whole auction phenomena quite intriguing. Fisher Price has a Snuggle-Kins Musical Stroller that is sold out everywhere but parents/grandparents are paying as much as $120 for this $20 stroller on Ebay. You heard me right. A $20 stroller that will probably fall apart before the credit card bill arrives. So who really wants this stroller? The parents or the toddler?

Remember the Juicy Couture purse that Madeline's friend's mom bought her while shopping at Saks? The one I didn't let her keep because I don't think 9 year olds should have $95 purses. How will she ever be satisfied with a purse from Target if I start her out with couture?

I tried to give the purse back to the mom who bought it but she refused so I've decide to put it on Ebay. I don't feel right keeping the money so I plan to use the money from the sale to buy items for the needy family we adopted this holiday season. Madeline does not understand that $95 is a lot of money for a purse. Hopefully her seeing what $95 can buy for a needy family will help her understand the value of money. Here's a short video of Madeline's tap dance she performed at a Holiday Extravaganza last night. I'm quite proud of our future Rockette's. It's a very cute dance. They are dressed up like reindeer, Mr. and Mrs. Claus. If you've got little ones around they would probably enjoy watching it.

How to Win the Hearts of Digg Users (and All Other Celebrity Social Media Communities)

Social Media users are emotionally connected to their communities. After visiting and using the social website for some time, some users naturally feel a sense of belonging within the community.
Although they are separate individuals, social media users gradually assimilate into the collective while developing in-group solidarity. This is when inside-jokes, memes and self-referential commentary starts to develop and spread from within the community.
This discourse influences the actions of other users. These behavioral displays and community-specific prejudices initially begin among established users, before transplanting itself within newer entrants into the social media community.
These newbies or beginners observe the actions of these users and some will adopt the same characteristics to fit in. Others will ignore the unwritten protocol and will participate in the social media community in their own way.
Here’s the catch: To win the hearts of an entire social media community, you need to tap into the vein of everything that matters to them, both individually and collectively. Your mastery of the community’s memes/preferences must demonstrate not only your understanding of their interests but your loyalty to the hive.
This is not an easy task to do. Viral marketers have tried to exploit social media channels like Digg by creating and disseminating relevant content through influencers, active social media users with a strong reputation and community commitment. If well crafted to suit the interests of diggers, popularity is achievable.

But viral content of this sort is still divisive. No matter how brilliant, you are only playing the interests of a segment and not the whole. Your story will be adored by some and scorned by others. It’s inevitable. So how do you tap the collective and reach the entire community as much as possible, at the same time?
The answer is simple. Engage both the community brand and the collective persona through the use of referential data that is commonly known by all social media users. In the case of Digg.com, the community brand is ‘Digg’ and the individual/collective persona is ‘Digger/s’, a title which refer to the audience and the users of the website.
These two labels are unanimously familiar to all users without exception. There are no topical barriers to overcome. Each user is naturally interested in content which references the community brand (Digg) and the individual or collective persona (digger/s) because they are actively engaged with the social media channel.
So in order to appeal to and attract the attention of all (or most) social media users, you’ll need to leverage the all-familiar brand of the community site while addressing the collective/individual persona directly. Talk to everyone by talking through an identity that everyone instinctively relates to.
This is the way you win their hearts or at the very least their attention or support.

Kina Grannis and Gotta Digg: Viral Marketing Through Digg.com


Here is a brilliant example of what I’ve mentioned above. Kina Grannis is an American singer participating in Crash The Super Bowl, a contest to determine which singer/band will get an Interscope recording contract and a chance to air a 60 second music video during the Superbowl.
User votes determine which artist gets to advance to the final round and the current round of voting ends on December 31st 2007. So the more votes she’s able to get, the better her chances of moving into the final selection process. To have a chance of winning, Kina needed votes. The more the merrier.
What Kina did was to write a song about SEX Digg and perform it while recording it on a video, which was then submitted to Digg last night with the title Cute Girls Sing Awesome Song About Digg. As you can probably imagine, the song did incredibly well and got to the Digg frontpage in 1 hr and 12 minutes.
The video was located on her blog post, which includes a plea for votes from the digg users who visited her page to view the video, which you can see below:
It also includes the lyrics for the song, which I’ve included below. Note specifically the use of inside references which are familiar to all (or most) Digg users:
     


The response by diggers was largely favorable. Almost all of them loved the song and marveled at how girls like Kina seemed to be a fan of Digg. A user even called it a nerdgasm and most thought Kina was cute and had a great voice.
The story was then picked up by Techcrunch and Techmeme, which probably helped the video to spread even further. At the moment now, the video has over 70,000 views and is on the second page of Youtube’s Most Viewed Today list.
It might not have the traction needed to advance higher on Celebrity money Youtube in order to get more views but things could change if the Hollywood video spreads fast enough. All this must be rather exciting for Kina, who developed an web reputation through this stunt.
Viral marketing 101, isn’t it? This actual scenario has all right elements in place for success. While the video was angled towards the Digg audience, it shows how easily social media communities of all sorts can be influenced by appealing to their emotional engagement with the community brand and collective/individual persona.
Something to keep in mind the next time you want to disseminate ideas or content in order to get the attention of social media communities. Now if you have a MySpace account, you might want to go cast a vote for Kina. ^_^

Celebrity: Justin Bieber Heads Hollywood Teen Money List

Celebrity Magazine came out with its richest News Hollywood teen list in their issue last week and it won't come as a surprise that 23-year-old Justin Bieber super Star

The magazine says Cyrus made $48 million with concerts, DVD's and Hollywood money TV, though some reports say she earned much less. Other notable teens to hit the list - how could you not be notable if you're a teen making millions a year? - include 19-year-old Taylor Lautner, who raked in somewhere around 16 million, much of it for Twilight. Angus T. Jones, like Bieber 17, is said to be making $300,000 an episode on Two and a Half Men and when they're not being interrupted by Charlie Sheen they make 22 episodes a year. You do the math.
Some younger rich teens include siblings Jaden and Willow Smith, whose parents are fabulously rich Hollywood types already but who, at 13 and 10 respectively, felt they should start earning a few millions on their own. Jaden made, reports say, $5 million, much of it coming from The Karate Kid and his appearance in the Bieber video of Never Say Never and film of the same name.
His sis made lots from her hit song Whip My Hair. And yes, at 10 she's not a teen and so would likely be the richest Hollywood pre-teen with her reported 4 million in earnings over the past year. And another pair of siblings, actors Dakota and Elle Fanning, are making millions, too. Four million for Dakota inBreaking Dawn and $1.5 million for Elle, 13, in Super 8.
Justin Bieber: Never Say Never
Of late Bieber, who recently invented an alter-ego Derek Bieber (interviewed here on Suite 101) has made most of his money through the fabulous success of Justin BIeber: Never Say Never, a hit all over North America and other parts of the world. And though he's giving proceeds of his fragrance for women called 'Someday' to charity, he continues to rake money in there.
All of the touring? The CD and album sales? The Justin Bieber pajamas and dolls? Yeah, there'd be a buck of two for all that stuff, and for other sources of income. To add to it all he's working on the release of a new album which is guarenteed to be a strong seller.
The rich, as they say (in this case teenage rich) just keep getting richer.

And she's hired top interior designer Dawn Ward—who charges £150,000 a time for her services —to make sure there'll be no fashion blunders like those to be found in her wardrobe.
"Coleen has suffered her fair share of criticism for the way she dresses," said a pal of the couple.
"The last thing she wanted was for their dream house to be named Chav Towers.
"With Dawn at the helm there'll be no chance of that."
Dawn, 31, is the wife of Sheffield United star Ashley Ward— so she knows what a footballer's pad should be like.
All six of Rooney's new bedrooms will have Bang and Olufson plasma TVs and sound systems, costing around £5,800 each, as well as ensuite "wetrooms" —posh bathrooms where you can spray water around to your heart's content without worrying about getting the floor wet.
The master bedroom will have his and hers walk-in dressing rooms and a balcony so they can sit and admire their landscaped grounds.
There'll be an indoor heated pool with steam room and a recessed Jacuzzi spa bath finished with carved wood mouldings at a cost of about £5,500.
Above the pool will be a gallery which incorporates a state-of-the-art gym.
The walls and floor will be fully tiled with limestone and a huge £13,000 plasma TV screen will dominate the room.
Coleen has also demanded a spray tanning booth —which will cost about £10,500—massage benches and a professional hairdressing and beauty station, priced at about £1,250, so that stylists can visit her at home.
The blonde is obviously looking to improve her image—and turned out for racing at Aintree on Friday in a slinky £3,000 blue dress with a smile so flashing she looked as though she'd had her teeth whitened.
Coleen—joined by a close set of pals and her mum and dad Collette and Tony in a private box—scooped £400 on Mighty Man in one race as she took tips over her mobile from Wayne.
As Mighty Man crossed the line, Coleen jumped up and down and screamed: "That's my horse. I am on Mighty Man and I can't wait to tell Wayne I've won a load of money."
That should be some relief to him, although her winnings probably wouldn't even be enough to buy a cupboard door handle in the £100,0000 kitchen she's planning for their new home.
Plans seen by the News of the World show that it will have Italian marble worktops, which Coleen has insisted on, solid wood units by Clive Christian costing £60,000 and expensive imported chrome taps and sinks.
Appliances will include a fridge-freezer made by Sub-zero, which can cost up to £8,000 and a wine-cooler by the same firm which sells for around £6,000.
A £5,500 cooking range from sought-after US brand Wolf—for Coleen and Wayne to cook their chips on—will dominate the room.
Downstairs, which includes a dining room and piano room panelled in oak, there'll be carved marble fireplaces galore. And because Coleen hates radiators, everywhere will have underfloor heating.
All the living areas will have oak floors adorned with hand-made rugs and the Clive Christian theme will be continued with a selection of his furniture.
The couple will also be able to watch the latest movies in a cinema room with hand-carved furniture. And there'll be a games room with a full-size £5,000 red baize pool table and two more plasma screens—one for TV, the other dedicated to a PlayStation games console.

Our source said: "It's no expense spared with Dawn and if you want the best then you've got to pay. But with footballers earning £50,000 a week, they've got the money to spend on exquisite furnishings."
The drawings also include a large wooden conservatory which will open out on to gardens at the rear. Flanking the house will be a triple garage for the couple's luxury motors.
The imposing entrance will be adorned with pillars and there will be another balcony above.
At the last count, interiors at the home in Prestbury, Cheshire, were nearing £1 million.
And Coleen hasn't even started to fill the new wardrobes yet.
